Animated GIF's

Here's a different animated GIF that I made before the Ferengi one.  It's from the movie Saving Grace with Colin Ferguson.  I use this as an avatar on a couple of sites.

It's not too hard to make these, just kind of time consuming.  I take screenshots with VLC, and then open them as individual layers in Gimp.  Then I just save them as an animated GIF.  I'm trying to find a better way to do it, but this works for now.

I'm not sure how big this will look, but I'll try it out!

Oh, I also just got the letter in the mail saying I am now on the kidney transplant waiting list!  I am still having family members and friends tested, but it's a good idea to be on the list too.  The coordinator said the wait is usually 2.5 to 3 years, but there's a 5% chance a match will pop up right away!  Not bad!

Ferengi

We've been watching a lot of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine lately.  It's enjoyable; not as fun as The Next Generation or even Voyager, but it does have some pretty nice moments.  Captain Sisko, played by Avery Brooks, is by far the craziest lead actor to helm a Star Trek series since William Shatner.  He can hit you with all kinds of inflections, from creepy to stoned!

I won't write a complete overview of the show; actually just wanted to post a screenshot from an episode I watched tonight!  So here it is!

It's all about the latinum.

I also tried to make an animated .GIF but I can't get the images to look right.  I'm still going to put it up though, just for kicks.

Anyway, that's about all I've got for this time!  Happy Thanksgiving a few days early; enjoy the mass quantities!

Update? What's an update?

Okay, that took a while!  I'm back on dialysis.  In the process of getting evaluated for a new kidney.  My sister Val is a partial match.  Not the best one, so we will be exploring some other options.  Not bad news in the least; everything is looking up!

First Post!

Well, this is my new blog!  Testing to see what this will look like!

Now that I'm at home all day, I guess I need something fun and interesting to do!  Besides reading other blogs on the Internet.

Movie reviews, health updates, home improvement stuff...who knows what I'll be blogging about!  Maybe I'll get bored, and this site will just stagnate forever.  Maybe I'll enjoy it so much I'll be on here everyday!  We'll see!
